PATRONAGE INTRODUCTION:

The history of art does not exist without great patronage. From the de' Medici family and Michelangelo to the Sforza family and Leonardo da Vinci, arts patronage has funded some of the greatest works of Renaissance Europe and beyond.

LIKE THE NIGHT ITSELF:

“It’s your job to take this art form to a new generation” - Tommy Emmanuel AM

Driven by an unwavering vision to create music that stands the test of time, I’ve built this project since its inception in 2022 with the support of incredible patrons who chose to believe in the vision early. Initially through the Australian Cultural Fund, and now privately, I owe the creation of my forthcoming album these supporters. Working with an art form I’m committed to for decades to come, I have a resolve not only to the purity of my own musical expression, but to the deeper impact I’ve seen it have.

Patronage directly funds the completion of the album Like The Night Itself, its accompanying films, and the creation of a lasting body of work intended to stand for decades to come.

NEXT STAGE - SEGRETEZZA:

With themes of broken trust, manipulation, and secrecy - framed by the ornate byzantine details of Venice by night - Segretezza proves to be the most compelling visual production of the Light The Night Itself album thus far.

Working again with producer / actress Ava Merson-O’Brien to bring the story to life - we travel to Venice, Italy to shoot a 4-minute music video, combining both guitar-performance, and storytelling via the following landmarks:

  • Aman - dark and ornate luxury hotel overlooking the grand canal, to set the opulent Bond-like ambience

  • Harry’s Bar - where Hemingway once wrote, and where I took notes on my album edits

  • Private Artist’s Garret (overlooking St. Marcs) - where I edited the album with rooftop views over Castello

  • Frari Cathedral - where Canova is buried in a Pyramid inside this church where I attended Christmas midnight-mass that year

  • St. Marcs Square - for the grand vista counteracting the tighter canal shots

  • Church of Santa Maria Maddalena for its mysterious Masonic / Enlightenment symbology

Story: an unspoken narrative of betrayal - a dark, mysterious woman in a symbolic joust with the male protagonist, fighting only via his art/music - her cloaked, shadowed, and aggressively destructive while clearly authentically in love.

Timeline: aiming for August 2026 filming, editing, and delivery, with a 2-day 3-person (addition of dedicated cinematographer) trip to Venice, and 1-week of editing in London after.

Budget: $2500 all inclusive. Breakdown upon request.
